Two years ago, we had the pleasure of welcoming Rose Wright who visited us from America. We were happy to see the following post from her mother on our facebook page…
This week our family is celebrating the 2-year anniversary of our amazing, dream-come-true trip to World Of James Herriot, made possible by the Make-A-Wish Foundation! It was Rose’s wish to walk where James Herriott walked and put her eyes on his beloved Dales. Rose is doing great, has made a scrapbook of her memories, and has spoken to many groups about her experience – we tell everyone we can, if you are ever visiting our friends in the UK, make time to see this gem.
Glad to hear you are doing well Rose, and good luck for the future from everyone here at World of James Herriot!

World of James Herriot are honoured to help make a wish come true!
Rose Wright aged 15 from Illinois in the USA – who is recovering from a brain tumour, had her greatest wish come true when she came to visit World of James Herriot on the 14th of June. Read the full story here in the Thirsk Weekly News.
Aaron – Rose’s father, had the following to say after their family visit: “You live in a beautiful country. It was truly the trip of a lifetime. I must say that our visit to the Museum and the day spent with you and Rosie was by far our best day! As a father, I am very grateful for everything you did for my Rose. Her mother and I are simply blown away by your consideration and kindness. I say thanks to you for everything you did and help set up. It was not lost on us how much work you put into everything. We all agreed yours was by far our best day as a family”!
We would like to take this opportunity to wish Rose continued health and best wishes for the future – from Ian Ashton, Rosie Page, and all at World of James Herriot.
